Hello all.

I have been in my role as Operations Manager now for 7 weeks. I report to the Operations board, Jim Keegan, Tony Durkin, Laurence Kirby and Steve Harvey. It has been a rollercoaster of a ride that’s for sure. I thought I would update all CFU members on what I am working on, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions then please feel free to contact me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

I am currently working with Mike Day on building  the new online shop, this has taken a while to get started but I am convinced it is better for everyone, they new platform looks better, has better detail and can hold more products.

I am working with Volunteers to get a volunteer co-ordinator in place. This is a vital role for our organisation. This  is  a role which will enhance the already fantastic work that countless volunteers do in and around the club. We will  always  need support and will always be grateful to anyone who volunteers their  time for our club. The Volunteer co-ordinator/s   will be able to channel support into the areas that are in need of more help. I hope that communication will improve also as volunteers will work within their teams and know who to go to for answers.

I am working with Sanctaury on the housekeeping side of our business, We currently have cover 4 days per week however we continue to utilise the building for functions which provides us with a vital revenue stream, this means that  we need to look at the way we keep the building clean, especially for matchdays.

I am working with our Legal Partner on HR issues to ensure we are complying with Employee law and best looking after our staff and volunteers. We have finalised the Volunteer handbook and have copies of these in the building for anyone to reference at any time. We are also working on training.

When it comes to safety and security, I am working with Steve Povey and Jim Keegan. We have a lot of work to do here, there is Fire safety, PAT testing, Water testing and a whole host of other tasks.

The Club shop is where I spent a lot of my time in the last few weeks. We have lots of new lines, all of which have been well received by fans on matchdays. The Friendly games saw us take a lot of vital money through the till. We are still pushing the big sale on dated stock. We have many bargains, pop in and have a look. The disappointing issue is the availability of replica adult shirts, all I can do is apologise, please believe me, we are working on it! There is nothing else we can do to speed the supply up.

I am starting to work with Steve Burr and Jon McCarthy on the players away travel. Both are really experienced managers and are helping me settle in.

I continue to work with Andy Cummings looking at how me can utilise the bars more. We have launched the kids birthday parties which are gathering momentum and we are starting to look at Christmas Parties.

Dave Riche and I work a lot together day to day as we are always in together.

I am really enjoying settling in, I know there is a lot to do, it is refreshing to work with such a great team, everyone wants the same thing- the football club to do well.

Tracey.
