How clean is your stadium?

The next City Fans United volunteer maintenance day takes place this Sunday 18th July and supporters are being urged to dig out their cloths, polish and rubber gloves to make sure the Deva Stadium is in pristine condition for Chester FC’s first home friendly against Aberystwyth Town FC the following Saturday.

“Last weekend we had over 50 supporters working around the stadium and made some real progress,” said board member Jim Green.

“The seats in the East and West Stands have been cleaned and the clubs offices have been giving a fresh coat of paint; the difference is really noticeable and everybody has commented on how much brighter the stadium is looking.”

The volunteer army will now turn their attention to cleaning the remaining areas of the stadium.

“All of the carpets need hoovering, the concourses at the back of each stand need sweeping and there are several other areas that are in need of a good clean,” said Green.

“We are asking people to bring their own cloths, mops, brushes and cleaning products to make sure we can get as much done as possible. We are also on the lookout for a jet wash if anybody has one they can loan us for the day.”

The volunteer-led maintenance days will take place every Sunday up to and including 25 July from 10.00am until 4.00pm. The club are encouraging supporters to wear suitable clothing and arrive throughout the day and stay for as long as they can.

Volunteers should meet in the Blues Bar upon arrival at the stadium for registration and refreshments will be provided. Further information is available by emailing volunteer@cityfansunited.com
